Supporting student success: the Annual Fund launches
For over 130 years, we’ve worked to make education accessible for all, empowering students to reach their full potential. We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of financial or personal circumstances.
The number of students who need financial support is rising due to the ongoing cost of living crisis. The combined cost of food, energy, travel, and accommodation is one of the most pressing issues our students are facing on campus today.
Last year, we received thousands of applications to support students facing hardship. We were not able to support all of the students who applied through donations, and there are hundreds more we could help with your support.
Our alumni and supporters play a vital role in continuing this mission – which is why we are launching the Greenwich Annual Fund.
Every donation will directly support our students, providing them with the resources and opportunities they need to thrive. By giving today, you’re helping to ensure that every student can access the education and experiences that lead to success, no matter their background.
As a non-profit institution, the University of Greenwich relies on philanthropic support. It is particularly important at Greenwich because of our ongoing commitment to widening access to education and the ongoing financial pressures students are facing across the sector.
Your gift to the Annual Fund, combined with our community of donors, makes a demonstrable impact, removing financial barriers, creating opportunities and giving the next generation the chance to go further than ever before.
Together, we can preserve the Greenwich experience, unlocking a life without boundaries. Join our community of donors today and help us continue our legacy of ensuring higher education remains accessible to all students.

Last year, we topped up the Food Voucher Scheme with £10k from donations from alumni like you.

"Looking back, I realise how much this support meant to me."
I am deeply grateful for the support I received. Balancing studies and living expenses while far from home wasn’t always easy, but the assistance from this fund helped lift a significant weight off my shoulders.
Covering essentials like groceries, travel and laundry was no longer a source of stress, allowing me to focus fully on my studies. The food vouchers were a tremendous relief, especially during intense periods of dissertation work when I needed a quick meal.
Looking back, I realise how much this support meant to me, especially during those challenging times. I am proud to have been part of a community that genuinely cares for its students and I extend my deepest thanks to the Greenwich alumni for their generosity and kindness.

My accommodation takes up most of my student loan and for a short time after Summer my part-time job was offering less shifts than I needed which meant I was struggling to budget for my regular costs. With the rising cost of food and transport being so expensive in addition to a high workload at uni, finding a second job was unrealistic.
I found it really hard to afford a basic food shop and so was missing meals. The Food Voucher Scheme was a massive help... I could get the food without missing uni, otherwise I would have had to take up a second job and miss classes, move back home, or in the worst case, drop out.
