Greenwich partnerships
We are delighted to introduce the new Partnership Hub, who the Alumni and Fundraising team will be working closely with going forward. The Partnership Hub team actively engage with external partners across a range of topics and match them to internal subject matter experts. They have so far achieved some great opportunities for our students which include scholarships and funding to support student projects.
Charlton Athletic FC
The University of Greenwich has extended its partnership with Charlton Athletic Football Club and Community Trust.
As well as the university featuring on all Charlton team shirts, the new three-year agreement will see the relationship grow in areas including community outreach, student work opportunities, research and knowledge transfer.
Greenwich students will also be given work opportunities with the club, trust and its partners, as well as benefiting from reduced ticket prices for home matches.
Alumni also benefit from this partnership with access to £10 tickets to home league matches during the 2023/24 season.
There are also special discounted tickets available for five themed match days at £5 each. You can find out more about this benefit here, or email alumni@greenwich.ac.uk.
Vice-Chancellor and CEO, Professor Jane Harrington said:

Kent Cricket
The community partnership is focused on collaborative work across the club’s county ground in Beckenham to make south east London an attractive place to live, work and study.
For the university, the partnership means our students have access to work opportunities with the club and its partners.
For Kent Cricket, the new partnership will provide the university’s academic expertise, research knowledge and leading-edge facilities along with community outreach projects.
We will work in partnership with Kent Cricket to maximise their expertise and resources to provide students and the local community with opportunities that aim to change lives for the better.

RSK Group
The University of Greenwich and the RSK Group have collaborated to empower the university to shape its green skills agenda, achieve its net-zero goal and offer students access to a new Green Skills Academy.
The university has previously confirmed its commitment to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030, applying sustainable development across its activities, and working closely with students, staff, and the wider community to help radically reduce carbon and enhance social value.
The partnership with RSK will give the university access to the group’s wealth of knowledge and experience which is underpinned by sustainability and engineering experts across 40 countries who work with businesses and governments to develop practical solutions to society’s greatest challenges.
Part of the partnership will include the delivery of ‘living lab’ projects with Greenwich staff and students, encouraging and stimulating more engagement with applied learning and research. A Green Skills Academy focusing on mentoring and scholarships for students and supplying a pipeline of graduates into the green sector are also part of the partnership agreement.
Additionally, this partnership will provide first-year undergraduate students with life-changing scholarships. The scholarship is a £5,000 cash bursary for students enrolled in specific engineering and architecture programmes. As a global leader in sustainable solutions, RSK will help the university’s greens skills agenda and help achieve its net-zero goals and empower the next generation of talented individuals.
This partnership reinforces the University of Greenwich's dedication to delivering a world-class education while equipping students with the knowledge and skills to address pressing global challenges in sustainability and engineering. It represents a significant step towards empowering the next generation of engineers and architects to drive positive change in their respective fields.
Zeeshan Asghar, Associate Director - Strategic Partnerships said:
“We are grateful for RSK’s continued partnership and support in providing five cash bursaries. Financial barriers can limit student potential and through the awards we hope to empower the next generation of students to make their own contribution towards a sustainable future.”
Simon Goldsmith, Head of Sustainability said:
“We can’t achieve the critical sustainability outcomes the world needs without collaboration. The partnership we now have with RSK, a leading sustainability consultancy and support services provider, creates a wide range of exciting opportunities for our students, graduates, and researchers.
"With this relationship we can illustrate the relevance and importance of sustainability to our teaching, learning and research, regardless of the subject area. We will develop and deliver a wide range of mutual benefits to the University of Greenwich, RSK and the societies we work within and the planet that we depend on.”
