Together, we go further

A welcome from our Vice-Chancellor and CEO.

At Greenwich, our strength has always come from the people around us — our students, alumni, partners and communities.

We've always known that we go further together.

That belief shapes everything we do, from the scholarships and development programmes that open doors for students, to the research collaborations that tackle real-world challenges, to the community projects that create lasting change beyond our campuses.

Our donors, volunteers and partners are at the heart of this. Their generosity helps us to remove barriers, support students who need it the most and build opportunities that change lives.

Every connection matters. Whether it's a long-standing friendship, a shared project or a new collaboration, each one strengthens what we can achieve. And it reflects something we've believed since 1890: that by working alongside people who share our values, there are no limits to what's possible.

A new chapter for Greenwich and Kent

The University of Greenwich and the University of Kent have formally committed to creating the London and South East University Group - a trailblazing, first-of-its-kind multi-university model that will become one of the largest higher education institutions in the UK and the largest in the South of England.

Coming into effect as a legal entity from 1 August 2026, the new group will bring both institutions under one unified structure, with a single board of governors, academic board and executive team. Professor Jane Harrington will serve as its first Vice-Chancellor.

Crucially, each university will retain its name, identity and local presence. Students will continue to apply to, study at and graduate from their chosen institution, while benefitting from the greater scale and opportunity the group provides.

Together, Greenwich and Kent will widen access to higher education, address skills gaps, and grow research capacity in shared priority areas including food security, health and wellbeing, and the creative industries.

It's a bold step, and one that stays true to what Greenwich has always stood for. We go further together.
